None of the chapters before this one are really about the past. They're the reasoning behind what ALKARTIS is trying to become, which is still very much in progress.
The question that started this — how do I actually understand what's happening in the place I care about — doesn't have a finish line. There will always be another dataset published somewhere that should be connected to the ones we already have. There will always be another category of decision — where to invest, where to raise a concern, what a public institution is actually doing — that deserves the same kind of connected, explainable answer that today's products give people about property, compensation, and risk.
That's the direction: more sources connected, more context attached automatically, more of the manual cross-referencing I used to do by hand replaced by a system that does it reliably, transparently, and fast enough to be useful before the moment has passed. Not because the goal is to add features, but because the underlying problem — access without understanding — shows up in more places than any one product can cover on day one.
I also intend to keep the promise made at the start of this section: there will be a time to share more of the story, including the person behind it. That time is tied to the same standard as everything else here — it comes after the work has earned it, not before.
For now, the best way to see where this is going is to see what it already does.
